Carla Matthee (1969) is geboren in Kaapstad, Zuid Afrika en woont sinds 2004 in Leiden. Naast haar werk als docent Human Resource Management besteedt ze veel tijd aan fotografie, vooral van landschappen, stadsgezichten en zeegezichten. Ooit begon ze als weerfotograaf en weersomstandigheden -storm, sneeuw, mist - fascineren haar nog steeds. De weerrubrieken van verschillende televisieomroepen hebben haar beelden gebruikt.Carla fotografeert graag tijdens het blauwe en het zogenaamde 'gouden' uur, wanneer de lucht van kleur verandert. In deze serie foto's van iconische plekken in Leiden combineert ze dat met reflectie. De weerspiegeling van licht en vormen in kanalen en natte straten maakt van haar camera een kaleidoscoop. Carla Matthee (1969) was born in Cape Town, South Africa and has lived in Leiden since 2004. Alongside her work as a lecturer in Human Resource Management, she spends much of her time on photography, with a particular focus on landscapes, cityscapes and seascapes. She started as a weather photographer, and she is still fascinated by weather conditions such as storms, snow and mist. A number of TV weather channels have used her photos in the past. Carla loves taking photos during the 'blue hour' - that time, just before sunrise and just after sunset, when the sky becomes intensely blue. In this series of images, she has focused on capturing the blue hour scenes of Leiden, with its reflections of light and architecture in its canals and wet streets. The beauty of these images has turned her lens into a kaleidoscope.
